Rented homes and landlords
With nearly three in ten homes rented, a fair share of Brookfield landscaping is for landlords: durable, low-maintenance yards that are easy to keep tidy between tenancies. Tenants should get the owner's written approval before any work. If you are an owner, ask the landscaper for options that need little water and little upkeep.
Registration and permits
Planting, turf and garden maintenance are not registered work in Victoria. Walls, paving, decks and other structural work under a domestic building contract worth more than $10,000 must be carried out by a practitioner registered with the Building and Plumbing Commission, so ask who is registered and whether anything needs a building permit.
