Diggers Rest is a township on the northern edge of the City of Melton. Victorian Places records that Melton gained the Diggers Rest area from the old Bulla shire in 1994. About 5,700 people lived across the locality at the 2021 Census, and 93 per cent of occupied homes were separate houses. The landscaping is a mix of town and country: front and back yards in the township streets, and bigger outdoor areas, fencing and long garden edges on the larger lots.
Melton Landscaping does not do landscaping. Your request goes to a local landscaper who works Diggers Rest.

Which council are you in?
Part of Diggers Rest is in the City of Melton and part is in the City of Hume. Tree controls, permits and crossover rules depend on which council your property is in, so check which one your rates notice names before you plan. If your lot has an on-site wastewater system, ask the landscaper to locate it and keep paving, walls and deep-rooted plants clear of it.
Registration and permits
Planting, turf and garden maintenance are not registered work in Victoria. Walls, paving, decks and other structural work under a domestic building contract worth more than $10,000 must be carried out by a practitioner registered with the Building and Plumbing Commission, so ask who is registered and whether anything needs a building permit.
Price guide for Diggers Rest

Frequently asked questions
How do I know which council I am in?
Your rates notice names it. If in doubt, ask the council.
Is landscaping a big rural block priced differently?
Usually. Larger areas can bring the square metre rate down, but access, machinery and distance can push it back up. Ask for an itemised quote.
Do I need a permit to remove a tree?
Check with your council before removing or heavily pruning a tree. The answer depends on the council and the planning controls on your land.
